D10 1978 Sho-Bud Pro II Custom 8 x 5 pedal steel guitar, double neck
A rare double neck (E9 + C6) D10 1978 Sho-Bud Pro II Custom 8 x 5, serial # 13536. Pedals are Emmons setup with: RKL = Raise 1,2, Lower 6 RKR = Lower 2, 9 LKL = Raise E's LKR = Lower E's LKV = Lower 5 Beautiful original two-tone wood color with vibrant birdseye natural blonde hard rock maple, and cherry wood of some sort, possible also maple. Front apron inlayed with cherry- and walnut- colored wood, two mother-of-pearl strips bordering. Gorgeous work possibly by Dick Miller (later from Bethel Steel Guitars). Sho-Bud logo is underneath lacquer. Upgraded knee levers are beautifully re-done with the Sho-Bud teardrop design in lightweight aluminum.
Electronics have been simplified down to a single input from the pickups, redone from an old added-on triple-phase knob glued to the undercarriage 80s job? That was knocked/cracked in half by a previous owner.
Action is awesome; snappy and clean. New strings installed in August 2021: JagWire Ricky Davis Signature E9 & C6 strings are on this guitar.
