Up for sale is a vintage Peavey Renown amplifier! This amp was made in the good ole' USA and built American tough! Comes equipped with 2 of the clear, loud and legendary 12 Scorpion Speakers! This amp is a favorite among country pickers and blues guitarists for its clean power. The clean (or "normal") channel also has a "pull bright switch" on the "preamp" control, perfect if you have a darker sounding guitar and want to give it more high end shine! This amp sounds great and takes overdrive or distortion pedals very well... She sounds awesome with my Bogner Ecstasy Blue Distortion or with a multi-effects pedal like my Zoom GFX-8.... But with its lead gain channel it also can do classic rock with the gain set lower. Turn up the saturation (supersat) knob and you can get to hard rock and even some older heavy metal (like 70's and maybe some 80's) with the help of this amp channel's very responsive 4 band parametric eq consisting of low, mid, high (also with "pull bright" switch) and prescence.

And man, with some simple tweaking of said equalization, it can really nail that 70's and 80's Marshall amp overdrive sound... It's almost uncanny, especially if you close your eyes...

And if you like the sound of both channels, you can also combine them both as they are both concurrently active! Just turn up the controls for both channels. Or if you want just one, all you have to do is turn down the controls ofthe channel you don't want to use at the moment!

This amp is has also been serviced in-house. We have cleaned all the pots and jacks to the best of our ability.

Reverb tank and all connections also, so that function works on this particular unit! That is not always a guarantee with these older amps. The effect sounds great, too!!!!
