Shopbuilt 6-String PEDAL STEEL GUITAR. IMPORTANT: This is NOT a conventional pedal steel guitar like those made by Sho-Bud or Emmons or ZB or ZumSteel or Mullen, or ANY of the major pedal steel manufacturers.

It was made by me, in our garage, as a simplified instrument for those times when I wanted to add pedal steel guitar flavor to the recordings I produce for myself and other singer/songwriters, without the annoying constant maintenance and adjustments inherent in factory-made pedal steel guitars. And guitar players will find it to be like a regular Strat or Tele lying on its side (and up on legs) with string-bending pedals instead of the more common and far, far more expensive Hipshot or Parsons-White B-bender systems. The changer mechanism is drastically simplified from even the simplest factory-made setups, and only requires occasional adjustments of the pedal/rod connectors instead of the nearly constant attention even the most expensive pro models often demand. Of course, it will sound best through an amp that has reverb.
